Goose Creek has been my home since 1982 when my father transferred here with the United States Navy. My wife and I have raised our children here. My parents retired here. I am committed to our city being a great place to live, work, raise children, and retire.
I am a 1986 graduate of Goose Creek High School. Thereafter, I attended the University of South Carolina and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration. For the next ten years, I worked at Trident Technical College, five as the Director of Career Services. The past 13 years, I have worked for Charleston Steel and Metal Company, currently as the General Manager of our Mt. Holly Plant. I have been an active member of our community. I served as President of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Low-Country, Board member of Callen-Lacey Children’s Shelter, volunteer youth sports coach, member of the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, and other community and professional organizations.
My wife Ellen and I have been married for 24 years and are proud parents of 2 boys. Our oldest son, Phillip is a graduate of Stratford High School and just graduated from Wofford College. Coleman is currently a sophomore at the University of South Carolina.
